My hope is that your yoga practice will not only lengthen your hamstrings, but deepen your understanding and appreciation of all of who you are. With yoga and shiatsu, you can feel both energized and relaxed!
In July 2014, I completed 20 hours of training with Elise Browning Miller, and in 2015 I became certified to teach Yoga for Scoliosis. Elise, inspired by Mr. Iyengar, uses a belt around a doorknob as a kind of "wall rope" for down dog, which feels fantastic for any kind of back issue. Below I show how to secure the belt onto the door. You'll want the guidance of a teacher to practice.

Here one of my students with scoliosis uses two belts in supta padangustasana to help ground the right thigh bone and provide traction to the right side of the low back.
